It has only been four months since we knew what films would be coming out by Marvel in their Phase Four. Over the weekend, Marvel announced their release slate for Marvel Phase 5 slate of films that will be coming out between the end of 2022 and all of 2023.
Per THR, Disney announced the five film release dates, but no names. The dates are October 7, 2022, February 17, 2023, May 5, 2023, July 28, 2023 and November 3, 2023. As we know, Black Panther 2 is in the works, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, and the recently announced Ant-Man 3.
Phase 4 of the MCU will pick up expediently in May of 2020 with the Scarlett Johansson-led Black Widow, and continue with The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, an untitled Far From Home sequel, and Thor: Love and Thunder.
While many of the next phase will deal with only two sequels, it is safe to assume that Marvel Phase 5 will have more sequels in it. Yet, trying to guess what movies Marvel has in the works is nearly impossible until leaks start happening. People better calm down on the concept that Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, or any of those Disney+ series will be ready for a movie that soon after their debut on the streaming service.
I know I’m simply adding onto the speculation, but there could be a Fantastic Four or X-Men reintroduction into the Marvel Universe. However, the idea that they would be out within the next four years isn’t realistic. I think Marvel is going to take their time with those properties, especially the X-Men. Since we had a major flop this year. It would be good to give them a break.
The slate of projects arriving for Marvel Phase 5 is anyone’s guess. However, it would be safe to assume that will be more sequels and no Fox properties.
